Scholarship Auction 2008

Scholarship Dessert/Auction

This past December the annual Crater Parent – Community Scholarship Dessert was held, raising a record amount in excess of $45,000. Thank You! The School District # 6 family continues to put kids # 1. Over the years thousands of dollars have been generated on behalf of hundreds of kids helping them to attend our nation's colleges, universities and trade schools. It is an overwhelming evening, watching a community come together to invest in the lives of its youth. So many people are to be thanked for the success past and present of the Crater Parent – Community Scholarship Dessert. Graduates, teachers, and friends of School District # 6 – Your generosity provides much more than monetary assistance to our kids. The message they receive is clear “Someone believes in me!” The 2009 Auction / Dessert will be held in December 5, 2009. Since 1992, the Crater Foundation has operated a soft drink booth at the Jackson County Fair. Staffed by nearly 100 volunteers who are willing to donate a few hours of their time, the booth is open from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight Tuesday through Saturday and from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Thirty-two ounce soft drinks, bottled water and snow cones are all sold for $2.00 each. Gross sales for the year exceeded $12,000. We hope each year to net at least 50% of the gross after all bills are paid. This year we were able to deposit over $6,000 into our scholarship fund and our general operations account. A huge “thank you” should go out to all those people who donated their time to help make this annual event a success
