6th Green Team Classroom Procedures
“Be Safe Be Respectful Be Responsible”
Enter the classroom quietly and politely - begin to fill out your calendar.
Exit the classroom in the same manner and ONLY when excused by the teacher! The bell is not the student’s signal to go.
Have your materials ready – i.e. pencils, paper, erasers, etc…
Be ready to listen when the teacher begins instruction.
Tardiness will be handled as outlined in the student handbook.
During instruction
- Be attentive and activate your thinking so you will be able to participate in the lesson if you are called upon.
- If you want to enter a class discussion – RAISE YOUR HAND – and wait until you are called on.
- Do not get out of your seat to move about the room without permission.
During work/activity time :
- Stay on task while working in groups or individually.
- When talking to your neighbor is necessary, use an “inside voice.”
- When an assigned task is completed, work on extra credit, read a novel, or do an assignment from another class.
- Policies for moving about the room may vary by teacher.
Assignments :
- Do your own work (unless assigned to a group). Copying is not tolerated at Scenic.
- Hand in assignments on time.
- Hand in assignments into the appropriate basket for each class.
- When absent…
- copy assignment from master calendar to your own.
- collect needed materials to complete the assignment.
- do not interrupt class instructions or directions to clarify the assignment with your teacher – wait for an appropriate time (or ask a friend!)
Late work:
- All work not turned in at due date will earn 50% of earned credit.
- Students will then have the rest of the trimester to turn in any missing work which will be noted as turned in. The student will then be eligible for any extra credit the teacher may provide. No student with work that is missing will be eligible for extra credit*.
- Please note that trimesters end on Fridays and there will be no opportunity to turn in late/missing work on the following week as the grading period has ended.
*Extra credit is only given in certain circumstances as determined by the individual classroom teacher. Extra credit is designed to allow students to increase their grade only slightly, not dramatically.
